HIROSHIMA TOYO CARPS

Written by Fullgatsu

NOTE: THE INFORMATION BELOW WAS BASED ON THE DEFAULT "OUT OF THE BOX" VERSION. IN 2010 THERE WERE 3 PATCHES WHICH WERE BASICALLY ROSTER UPDATES. THUS, IF YOU ARE RUNNING A FULLY PATCHED GAME THIS INFORMATION WILL NOT BE 100% ACCURATE BECAUSE SOME PLAYERS MOVED TO DIFFERENT TEAMS.

Hiroshima Toyo Carp haven't had much of a success in the Central League often finishing last but the were one of the most successful teams mid 70s to mid 80s but have since then returned to the cellar of the league. While they have had some really superstar players they have often left for greener pastures with free agency recent such stories include Hiroki Kuroda and Colby Lewis. This season they moved from their old stadium to the new Mazda Zoom-Zoom stadium.

Default Lineup:

1. Higashide - #2 - 2B
2. Soyogi - #6 - SS
3. Amaya - #49 - RF
4. Kurihara - #5 - 3B
5. Huber - #11 - 1B
6. Fiorentino - #43 - LF
7. Akamatsu - #38 - CF
8. Ishihara - #31 - C

Higashide is good contact hitter with no power, he have several skills that should make him bat for a high average and with his good speed he'll make a good leadoff hitter while having good defense at second.

Soyogi isn't the greatest hitter and it would probably a good idea to bunt runners over but his speed and skills makes a good basestealer. His defense is okay which makes up for his poor batting.

Amaya is an okay batter with great speed but his basestealing is weakend by the steal-2 skill. When awakend his batting improves quite a bit.

Kurihara have been one of the best hitter on this team for some years now. A batter with good power with the powerhitter skill. He can even awaken some times and will end up as a hitter with great contract and power. His defense at third is poor and if possible should probably be moved to first.

Huber have terrible contact attributes but his power is decent but probably not enough to make him a decent hitter, His defense isn't too good either so a replacement for him should probably be a high priority.

Fiorentino is almost Ds across the board which makes him quite good on this Carp team. He can awaken once and will then get good contact attributes which makes him a good player to have.

Akamatsu is a speed demon with his S speed but is unfortunely also cursed with Steal-1 but that will disappear when awakend. His batting isn't the best but his defense in centerfield is one of the best with blazing speed and a strong arm.

Ishihara have a good arm but trouble with contact. If awakend he gets decent contact which will make him a productive hitter while being able to stop mosts running game.

On the bench there isn't much but #26 Hirose should probably start with his decent bat and great defense. #4 Kukubo is a good option for shortstop with much better growth then Soyogi.

In the Nigun you have 37# Matsuyama who could start on Carps after being awakend once, a power hitter with strong arm that makes him a decent corner out/infielder. #60 Abe and #52 Shoji both turn into good middle infielders after being awakend six times or so.After 5-6 awakens #10 Iwamoto turns good power hitter, #50 Suzuki becomes a good overall outfielder and #13 Dobayashi becomes a good hitter with okay defense. The most interesting player here is probably #0 Io who becomes a super utility player who can play every position and do so soon as he maxes out after two awakens.

Pitching

#17 Otake have impressive attributes and should be able to compete with most aces. His sharpness is good but his control is iffy. He also have some bad skill like slow starter, walk, easily rattled and bad vs runners which will have him perform worse the first innings and have trouble when runners get on.

#18 Maeda is one of the most impressive young starters in the league and this shows in the game, while he starts only as a good pitcher he can awaken three times and will end up as on of the best pitchers with plenty of positive skills.

#21 Yuki Saito. The other Yuki Saito have some promise in this game and after being awakend some will create a triple ace threat with Otake and Maeda.

After that there isn't that much impressive. #70 Mike Shultz have impressive fastball but lacks secondary stuff so his success as a starter is doubtful but he can always become a bullpen ace together with #20 Nagakawa who have a great forkball but no control and #39 Umetsu who improve alot after being awakend once.

In the Nigun you have #16 Imamura and #62 Imai who have the potential to be starting aces and #12 Takeuchi can almost immedietly join the bullpen.
