NOTE: THE INFORMATION BELOW WAS BASED ON THE DEFAULT "OUT OF THE BOX" VERSION. IN 2010 THERE WERE 3 PATCHES WHICH WERE BASICALLY ROSTER UPDATES. THUS, IF YOU ARE RUNNING A FULLY PATCHED GAME THIS INFORMATION WILL NOT BE 100% ACCURATE BECAUSE SOME PLAYERS MOVED TO DIFFERENT TEAMS.

Default Lineup

Ibata - #6 - 2B Araki - #2 - SS Morino - #30 - 3B Blanco - #42 - 1B Wada - #5 - LF Cesar - #7 - RF Fujii - #4 - CF Tanishige - #27 - C Pitcher

Notable Hitters Araki and Ibata, the first 2 hitters, are the most famous double play combo in Japan. Together, they have won the Gold Gloves for 2B and SS every year since 2004 and you will see this reflected in their godly defense attributes. You can switch both their positions or their batting order around if you want (since that's what happens in real life a lot). On offense Ibata has the Average Hitter (which is a very good skill) and Araki has Steal +1 and A for speed so you can abuse his speed.

Morino-Blanco-Wada is a killer 3-4-5 combo, maybe the best 3-4-5 in the game/ real life. #3 hitter Morino in real life has been a .300 avg and 20HR type guy for the last few years and in the game he has the Line Drive power hit skill as well as Chance +1 and Bases Loaded so he is a super RBI guy. #4 hitter Blanco is one of those all-or-nothing power guys. He hit .275 with 39 homeruns last year but he also struck out 150+ times. And finally #5 Wada is just an amazing player with a 7 arc, A for Power, the Power hitter Skill, the opposite field skill, and a C contact against right handed pitching on top of all that! I guess the developers must be big fans but seriously he is getting really old but his numbers have bounced back in a big way instead of decline so he definitely deserves the high stats.

I will mention catcher Tanishige here because you will probably notice that he is a horrilbe hitter but he has a S for defense and a 7 lead rating. That's because he has a very good defensive reputation in Japan for making very few errors, throwing out a lot of baserunners (leading the league 5 times), and calling good games.

Lastly, you should really dump RF Cesar to the minor like in real life since he really sucks in the game too. I would let #44 Koike or #8 Hirada play RF instead.

Notable Pitchers

The Dragons have a very good rotation. #21 Chen, a Taiwanese import, is 1 of the aces of the staff, and Konami actually gave him a "S" fastball to show for that. You can probably throw just the fastball at the corners and do nothing else and win a lot of games on Hard+ difficulty. Another ace #19 Yoshimi and #20 Nakata all throw hard and have very good stuff. Now you combine all these young pitchers with the great game calling skills of catcher Tanishige, and you will be see that you can throw a lot more pitches before getting tired

#13 Iwase is a superstar closer in Japan. He is left-handed and he is best known for his signature pitch, the high speed slider. This is the pitch he will throw most of the time and I guess you can compare it to Mariano River's cutter. Hitters know it is coming but they still cant quite hit it. The pitch is really fun to throw in the game and has huge break so try him out.
